Description

Wearing Me Out – ID jewels

In this workshop participants will identify and construct a persona for which they will design a playful jewel embodying the following attributes: Identity (arrangement of signs displaying individual personality, character, or belonging to a group); Object Logic (relevance to value, personal attachment to object); Materiality (originality and economy of means in the selection and assembly of found materials and objects, and relevance to theme & persona); Context (relevance of jewel to the individual, or group context, expression of dissent); Communication play (clarity and evidence of communication process, humour, drama, connexion to personal communication devices); Synaesthetics (appreciation of multi-sensorial experiences and their metaphorical expressions)

Remi Leclerc runs PolyU’s PolyPlay lab, which investigates the mutually beneficial relationships between design, play, and education. His work is anchored in the exploration of different notions of play and the conventions of interactivity to develop product service-systems for play and everyday.

This workshop is limited to 15 places.
