Description

Plain English Workshop

Plain English is a way of presenting information that helps others to understand your message the first time they read or hear it.

It allows them to:

  • get the information they need
  • understand it easily
  • act if they need to

The Plain English workshops are designed for anyone working with a Disability Service Provider who writes:

  • Emails
  • Funding applications
  • Policies and procedures
  • Internal reports
  • Promotional materials

This is an opportunity to get some tips, practice using Plain English, and learn how to encourage the use of Plain English within your organisation.

  • Save time, money and avoid misunderstandings
  • Use language appropriate for the reader’s reading skills
  • Minimise mistakes, complaints, unnecessary queries
  • Empower others to understand and follow instructions
  • Enable others to make better informed decisions

All participants will receive a Plain English guide ‘Communicate Clearly’ as a workplace reference.

Training: A 3.5 hour session, face to face workshop

Attendance is free but registration is essential.

Morning Tea will be provided.
