Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

What is it?
A fast-paced competition in which three Social Enterprises and Community Groups will have just 5 minutes to pitch their dream projects to a panel of Pitch Partners and the audience. Our Pitch Partners are business professionals drawn from the Stonnington community, and together with the audience they will determine how prize
funds are to be distributed among the competitors.

Participants will use the funds generously donated by Windsor Community Bank and Stonnington community, to help make their dreams a reality!

Why attend?
The audience is just as important as the Pitch Contenders and Pitch Partners.

  • Seize your chance to #bethechange

  • Be inspired by, network with, and directly support your local community

  • Feel good about giving back!

Our community bank model means that 50% of Windsor Community Bank profits are distributed directly to our local community. In fact, over 16 years we’ve returned more than $1,000,000 to the Stonnington community! Help us continue our outstanding work.

Pitch Contenders

Stonnington Toy Library

A library of toys, puzzles and games for parents, caregivers and grandparents of children 0-6 years old in the Stonnington area. Their mission is to help each child to reach their full potential through play. They are a not-for-profit incorporated association, owned by their members and they are funded mainly by members’ subscriptions and fundraising. Stonnington Toy Library is supported by Stonnington Council

TRY South Yarra Kindergarten

At TRY South Yarra Pre-School they pride themselves on presenting an innovative, exciting program that enables children to grow, learn and develop in a supportive, nurturing and stimulating environment.

They view children as powerful and capable and aim to promote children’s voices and interests in their program. They believe that children learn through their relationships with family, teachers, peers, the environment and their community. They aim to provide a safe space for children to explore, create and develop respectful relationships. The outdoor setting of the kindergarten is a very important part of the program.

They believe the outdoor play area offers equal learning opportunities and the outdoor environment is carefully planned and set up to support and encourage all aspects of children’s learning; for this reason they run an indoor/outdoor program.

Green Collect

Their business is an ecosystem, a circular economy where goods are donated or collected, repurposed, recycled, upcycled and sold back into the community. At Green Collect, they work to ensure that resources are used to their full potential. That means they don't just recycle materials, they use them to create work opportunities for communities who face barriers to employment. Together they’re achieving their vision to build inclusive workplaces and sustainable cities. They love interacting with their community and having operated in Melbourne for many years they are proud to be a part of the vibrant tapestry of the diverse communities.
