Event description

Description

Note: This is the rescheduled event which which will be hosted on 3 March 2019.

Council’s environment team is hosting a special micro bat picnic event at Hanging Rock Reserve.

Council is undertaking a bat census whereby bats will be trapped, identified and released. We are inviting interested residents to join in to see the release of the bats and to get up close.

A special talk will be provided by naturalist, John Harris, who will speak about the different types of bats and how you can contribute to their conservation.

Bring a rug, picnic and enjoy being amongst the wildlife at Hanging Rock. As the sun begins to set, we will start our bat talk and then release the bats. As the talk will be conducted outside, we recommend bringing a picnic rug as no seating will be provided.
