Event description

Description

In this 3 hour workshops you will learn the true practice of Pickling which is the process of preserving or expanding the lifespan of food. This workshop is based on the principles of reducing waste and sustainable shopping as we only pickle and preserve that which is in season. Most things we already have in our kitchen can be used in the preserving process. This is an age old practice used for centuries and one that is gaining popularity again.

We encourage participants to bring along with them 2 x 150ml jars as we like to recycle wherever possible. You will learn every method of pickling from salting, sugar, and vinegar, you will learn the sterilisation process and why this important, plus you will be hands on making your own pickles to take home.

This workshop is fun and very interactive and we know you will confident in continuing your pickling and preserving journey at home.
