Ever wondered why Pablo Picasso painted such strange faces?

About this Event

Find out the answer in this class and get creative with recycled cardboard to create a one-of-a-kind Picasso-inspired mask. The workshop will be led by our very own Naomi Oliver, who has been running school holiday workshops for many years at Blue Mountains Library. Naomi is a practising Artist and experienced Art Teacher.

This workshop is suitable for 6 - 12 year olds.

You will need to join us on Zoom by registering here. You will be provided with a Meeting ID once you have registered. You must provide your mobile phone number as we will text you the password 24 hours before the workshop. If you do not have a mobile phone,once you have registered, please contact us on 4723 5040 or 4780 5750 (Monday to Friday 10am - 5pm).

Material list:

*Recycled scrap cardboard box pieces/cereal box/store-bought cardboard (minimum of two 30cmx30cm pieces, the more random-shaped the better!)

*Scissors

*Glue stick

*Lead pencil, eraser, sharpener

*YOUR CHOICE of art materials, such as: textas, colour pencils, paint pens, chalk pastel, acrylic paint with brushes

*Work on a covered surface and please wear paint clothes if using pastel or paint

Adults: if the cardboard is very thick/too thick to cut with scissors, please pre-cut some randomly-sized geometric shapes out for children using a safety knife, with one shape being as large as a face
