Overview

Experience Trick and Alderighi dazzling four-hands jazz arrangements of Italian classics from the 1930s–50s

The Italian Cultural Institute is pleased to present a special piano four-hands concert by the celebrated duo Stephanie Trick & Paolo Alderighi on Thursday, 12 February 2026, at 6:00 PM

Internationally acclaimed as pioneers of four-hands jazz piano, Trick and Alderighi bring together impeccable technique, lyrical elegance, and infectious swing. Known for their inventive arrangements of stride, ragtime, boogie-woogie, and Swing Era classics, the duo has earned praise from critics and audiences around the world. Their recent work explores the rich musical legacy of the Golden Age of Broadway and Hollywood.

For this concert, the duo presents a new program dedicated to Italian popular songs from the 1930s, ’40s, and ’50s, featuring original four-hand piano arrangements. The evening will include beloved classics such as “Tornerai,” “Nel blu dipinto di blu,” “Anema e core,” “Ciribiribin,” “Non ti scordar di me,” “Un bacio a mezzanotte,” and “Estate,” along with a special Nino Rota medley from 8 ½ and Amarcord.

Praised for their “gorgeous lightness of being” (Michael Steinman) and “four-handed stride as it’s never been done” (Dick Hyman), Stephanie Trick (St. Louis), a leading stride piano virtuosa, and Paolo Alderighi (Milan), one of Italy’s foremost jazz pianists, offer a performance that is both historically informed and joyfully fresh.

A unique and sparkling musical journey not to be missed!
