Join us for a special lunch time zoom forum to hear why now is the right time to #RaiseTheAge.

About this event

Children as young as 10 years old can be imprisoned in every state and territory in Australia, including NSW.

On 27 July, the Council of Attorneys-General (CAG) has the opportunity to raise the minimum age of criminal responsibility to at least 14.

Hear from Daniel Daylight, Program Manager of Creating Futures at Weave Youth and Community Services/Managing Director of Infinite Hope Aboriginal Corporation, Isaiah Sines, Mt Druitt Youth Engagement Officer and Just Reinvest NSW Youth Ambassador, Terleaha Williams, Project Lead on 'Mounty Yarns - The lived experiences of Aboriginal young people in Mt Druitt' and Just Reinvest NSW Youth Ambassador, Dr Jacqueline Small, President-elect, The Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and Keisha Hopgood, Managing Solicitor - Children’s Criminal Practice, Aboriginal Legal Service NSW/ACT, as they explain why we should keep kids in community and #RaiseTheAge.

The panel discussion will be moderated by PIAC CEO, Jonathon Hunyor, and will be followed by a Q&A.
