At the end of the day do you get rocks in the base of your neck? Feel like you aren’t firing on all cylinders? Do you suspect that your aching mid-back is mostly related to poor posture or a weak core? Then this fun-filled, practical one day workshop is for you!
Physiotherapists, Melinda Luck and Requel Trevillion will introduce the principles of the highly lauded Physiocise program which over the last 20 years has taught over 66, 000 functional exercise classes to people with dodgy backs and wobbly bodies.
Learn how your body type affects you and your clients. How sitting and standing improves your core and more. How to stretch to reduce tension and perhaps most importantly, how to strengthen your wobbly bits!
* Recognize different body types and how this affects posture and pain
* Identify our two muscle systems and how they interact to move and stabilise the body
* Define the ‘core muscle system’ and explain factors that can weaken it
* Recognize signs and symptoms of a weakened or “crashed” core
* Learn strategies to activate the core and rebalance the muscle systems
* Demonstrate key stretches to relieve tension and pain
* Demonstrate functional strengthening exercises and learn to retrain pain-free movement patterns.
