Event description

Description

An unmissable seminar day for all lovers of photography!

We all want to be heard, and we all struggle to be seen in a world over-saturated with images, many of them generated by marketing professionals; how do we cut through this soup of images as creators and consumers to deliver our message, be it social, political or artistic?

A single day, jam-packed with experts across Australian and international photography and the art industry who share their passion for photography through presentations and thought-provoking discussions to inform, inspire and answer your questions.

SOME TOPICS OF THE DAY:
- To be or not to be represented by a gallery - the art of selling and collecting photography – perspectives of a gallerist, collector and photo-based artists
- Generating your own project - Somos Brasil – a distillation of art, science and technology – an interactive photographic project like no other incorporating photographic portraits, DNA profiling and a talking app to uncover identity in modern-day Brazil
- Documenting with all your heart – humanitarian crises photographed through the lens of humanity. From war-zones to human rights to climate change, world-renowned photojournalists and documentary photographers speak from the heart
- Picture editors, #MeToo and the shifting landscape of media
- Where is that pic… - how do we archive our personal and public histories (and how to find your precious work safely and easily)
