NOTE: DUE TO THE SENSITIVE NATURE OF THE LOCATION, ONLY TICKET HOLDERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND THIS SITE ON THIS OCCASION AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO AND FROM THE SITE BY BUS (TO MINIMIZE LIGHT POLLUTION PARTICIPANTS WILL NEED TO USE THE BUSES PROVIDED TO ATTEND) . YOU ARE WELCOME TO VISIT ORRORAL TRACKING STATION SITE FOR PHOTOGRAPHING AT ANY OTHER TIME WITHOUT A TICKET. ***

Leading up to the 50th anniversary celebrations of the moon landing we would like to invite you to join ACT Parks and Conservation Service and renowned Photographer Ari Rex as we gather under the stars in the Orroral Valley and photograph the Milky Way.

Meet at the Namadgi Visitor Centre before heading down to the Orroral Valley and Joining Ari Rex as united we turn our cameras to the night sky.

Each participant will need to bring their own camera (DSLR or Mirrorless), a fully charged battery, tripod, small headlight (minimal light), sturdy shoes, appropriate clothing (nights can be chilly in the valley) and any food or drinks to keep you going. (please remember to take your rubbish with you)

Arrive at the Namadgi Visitor Centre from 5.00pm, to board the buses for a 6pm departure. We will be on site at Orroral Valley Tracking Station by 6.45pm for commencing the photographing of the Milky Way at 7.30pm. Then at 8.30pm we will be photographing the core of the Milky Way before returning to the Visitor Centre.

Please note you will need to register to attend this event and you may be photographed throughout the event as a requirement for documenting a potential record event. Participants must be 15 and over.

This event is hosted by ACT Parks and Conservation Service
