About this event

Alright, 3rd time's a charm. This time the Delta Aquariid meteor shower will be at its peak and Saturn will also be visible, so a lot to look forward to in that regard!

Meeting time and place is 16:45 at Central Grand Concourse to catch the 17:01 train. Alternatively, you can meet us at Hornsby Platform 2 at 17:45 if you wish to join us on the train (please let us know in advance) or drive to Mount Kuring-Gai Oval to meet us at 18:15. Please arrive on-time or early! Train does not wait for you, or you will be left behind!!!

PhotoClub & Space and Astronomy Society are collaborating for Astrophotography Night! We will be going to Mount Kuring-Gai Oval to take photos of stars and night. There will be cameras available for you to explore the night sky if you don’t have one.

Please have your dinner before the start of the trip because there are no shops at Mount Kuring-Gai and we will be back late. Bring some snacks if you want to.

We will be leaving Mount Kuring-Gai Oval at around 9pm to head back to the city for dismissal.

Items to bring:

  • Camera - DSLR, MILC, Compact, Film, Mobile, as long as it takes pictures! (DSLR & MILC are preferred)
  • Comfortable pair of walking shoes
  • Tripod
  • Remote shutter release (if you have one)
