WHY ATTEND | If you want to impress and inspire at your research milestone then this workshop is for you! This practical interactive workshop will help you to ‘wow’ your panel when communicating your research through improving your presentation skills and slide design.
The workshop will be undertaking serious work in a safe, fun environment.
1. Build your communication skills to explain complex research to an expert panel that meets your milestone requirements
2. Learn the tricks of how to engage and impress your panel
3. Develop advanced skills in how to structure an impressive milestone presentation
4. Have advanced skills in designing your PowerPoint slides…the tricks that the pros’ use

Principles of effective oral communication
1. Communication process & styles
a. Understanding & responding to diverse communication styles

2. Audience focused presenting
a. Profiling the audience.
b. Crafting the presentation
c. Responding to diverse research disciplines

a. Designing visual aids – tricks of designing PowerPoint slides

a. Answering panel questions
What do you need to do pre-workshop?
1. Your Background | submit the template to Margaret Heffernan by Friday 12th August 2022 @ 5.00 pm.
2. Pre-reading | Read the Hartmann et al 2011 article and complete the survey at the end
