Description

The 2017 conference features a range of exciting speakers flying in from various parts of the world. Keynote speakers, Dato Kim Tan from the UK, will share insights into his world as a bio tech entrepreneur and social impact investor. From Singapore, Peng Sum Choe, the CEO of Frasers Hospitality will openly share about his journey on the inception of Fraser Hotels and Apartments with 2 properties in 1996 to today with a portfolio of 184 properties in over 80 countries.

The conference will also feature 6 workshops listed below, of which participants can choose two to attend:

Derek will provide insights on the entrepreneurial journey that you can apply to your own startup idea or current business. He will also explore and share how this can be aligned to your faith and how to go about this as a Christian in the marketplace.

Kim Tan: Social impact investing

Kim Tan is a successful biotech entrepreneur, global social impact pioneer and a Jubilee-inspired advocate of changing how entrepreneurs can make a difference around the globe. Kim is the founder and Chairman of Spring Hill Management Ltd, a UK fund management company specialising in life sciences and social venture capital investing, founder and Chairman of the NCI Cancer Hospital in Malaysia and Board member of the APEC Life Science Forum.

Kim's workshop will focus on the growing field of social impact investing where businesses are designed to tackle poverty and social issues instead of using the traditional charity approach.

Amit Khaira and Josh Bond: Where to from here

Amit and Josh direct the Catalyst Program, a course designed to provide students to discover God's heart for the world and to unearth their purpose. They also own Halo Cafe in South Perth, a social enterprise that supports Initiate Australia, a not-for-profit with projects around the world focused on alleviating poverty.

Their workshop will address and help identify your calling and purpose, in a world where options are endless regarding career and vocation and the role of our faith in all of this. The workshop will help those who are starting out, in the midst of changing careers or for those who are doubting or needing confirmation on where they currently are.

Peng Sum Choe: Climbing the corporate ladder

Peng Sum has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. As CEO of Frasers Hospitality Group Pty Ltd, he looks after the business performance and global expansion of a chain of serviced and hotel residences and boutique hotels worldwide.

Peng Sum will be sharing his journey, learnings and how he applies biblical principles to his work. Along his journey to the top as the CEO, there were many challenging decisions and learning to effectively manage people - all which he will candidly share about.

Wendy Chua: Possibilities in changes and challenges

Psychologist by vocation, Wendy started own leadership practice called WAND Inspiration which applies psychology to help leaders and teams build resilience and achieve goals.

Her workshop will have you reflect on possibilities. You will learn ways to manage changes and anxieties, to look at setbacks and challenges with more optimism, and to leverage on your relationships during difficulties. The workshop will also address it means to 'let go and let God'.

Derek Gerrard: Your startup and faith

Derek is an entrepreneur and investor with over 20 years in the tech sector and works to accelerate the growth of companies through his corporate advisory firm Go Capital and as head of Innovation Bay Perth (a network of tech entrepreneurs and angel investors).

Phebe Cho: Leading with your limitless potential

Phebe is the Founder of Accelus, a talent consultancy and career coaching academy, focused on shaping the future of human potential.
