Course Details

  • 6 x 90 minute sessions
  • 2 x 30 minute training sessions separated by 1 x 30 minute discussion and breakout session
  • Hosted on MS Teams (You do not need a MS Teams account, you can join as a guest)
  • You willl be emailed the link and materials two days before the session
  • If you miss the session or need to leave before the end we will send you a link to the video of the training which will be accessible for 2 weeks (on request)
  • $69 per session
  • Fortnightly on Wednesdays at 10:00am (AEST)

Session 1 – Time Management (9th March 2022)

  • Understand the 4 aspects of time management
  • Learn the 7 different drivers of priorities
  • Have a tool to understand your relative priorities
  • Understand differing responses to important and urgent tasks
  • Understand how to develop a schedule that works for you
  • Have a tool to audit your time
  • Learn techniques to minimize interruptions
  • Learn techniques for the efficient use of meetings, emails and phone calls

Session 2 – Stress Management (23rd March 2022)

  • Understand the 4 aspects of stress management
  • Understand what stress does to your body
  • Understand the symptoms in the 4 phases of stress
  • Identify the sources of your work stress
  • Learn how to cope with organisational stress
  • Learn how to build stress resistance – physically and mentally
  • Learn the cognitive restructuring technique
  • Understand the 4 key stress relief techniques including breathing and relaxation techniques
  • Learn how to use a stress diary

Session 3 – Effective Communication (6th April 2022)

  • Understand the various components of every communication
  • Understand how to build trust to get listened to by more people
  • Understand how to craft messages that engage others
  • Understand the value of assertiveness
  • Understand the verbal and nonverbal cues in lie detection
  • Understand when to use different communication mediums
  • Understand the variety of ways that people code and encode information
  • Understand the six common perceptual errors
  • Understand the aspects of active listening

Session 4 – Understanding Personality Types (20th April 2022)

  • Understand the nature of the 4 different personality types
  • Understand your personality type through an assessment
  • Understand the strengths, weaknesses and blind-spots associated with your personality type
  • Understand how to relate to people of differing personality types
  • Understand how to quickly recognize different personality types through verbal and non-verbal cues
  • Understand how to different personality types perceive each other
  • Understand how to communicate with people of different personality types

Session 5 – Conflict Resolution (4th May 2022)

  • Understand 5 different conflict resolution styles and when to use them
  • How to find win-win solutions
  • Learn the 4 options you have when you can't find a win-win
  • Understand the 4 steps in negotiation
  • Understand the difference between positions and interests
  • How to deal with 4 main types of difficult people – blockers, recognition seekers, withdrawers and blockers

Session 6 - Career Development (18th May 2022)

  • Understanding the who, what, how, when and where of career goals
  • Understand and using your work strengths and preferences
  • Do a strength assessment
  • How to forming a career “board”
  • Understanding and talking with your manager
  • How to map and tweak your job to suit your interest and skills
  • Understanding how your values differ from your organisation’s values and what to do about it
