About this event

***Due to the recent flooding, the first workshop has been postponed to the 30th of May, with the second workshop following on the 6 of June 2022. ***

Queenslanders with Disability Network in partnership with Community Services Industry Alliance and the Southern Downs Regional Council are hosting Emergency Preparedness workshops via online sessions.

Attend both workshops to start your own emergency plan tailored to your disability support needs.

  • Learn about the four steps to help you get prepared for an emergency or disaster.
  • Learn about disaster risks in the Southern Downs region and where to go for information.
  • Start your own emergency plan, using the Person – Centred Emergency Preparedness workbook (P-CEP).

The P-CEP is a practical conversation guide and planning tool used by people with disability to tailor emergency preparedness to their individual support needs.

  • The first session is on Monday the 30th of May from 9.00 -12.00
  • The second session is on Monday the 6th of June from 9.00 -12.00

*You need to attend both sessions to complete your plan.

The meeting will be open from 9am, with a starting time of 9.30am.

If you would like more information about the workshops, please contact James Wong at the Southern Downs Regional Council here: james.wong@sdrc.qld.gov.au
