Description

Northern Territory PHN invites health professionals to attend the upcoming Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Course presented by St John Ambulance.
This event will provide up to date skills and knowledge required to provide CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

To maintain current competence St John Ambulance recommends, in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council, that CPR skills and knowledge are reviewed every 12 months.

Assessment: There are two assessment tools used as part of this course.

  1. 1. An observation scenario checklist will be utilised to assess CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) skills.
  2. 2. A 15 question multiple-choice assessment will be provided before the conclusion of the training.

Note: CPR must be effectively demonstrated and assessed on an adult manikin on the floor where Infant CPR can be assessed on a firm surface.

What you need to bring:

  • Notebook and pen,
  • a light jacket if you get cold in air-conditioning
  • photo ID.
  • your Unique Student Identifier (USI)
    NB: It is also essential that you obtain, and bring along, your Unique Student Identifier (USI) number. Follow the link to register for your USI number, you will need this to obtain your RACGP points.

Dress Standards: Due to the nature of practical exercises, skirts or dresses are not considered appropriate.

Refreshments: At St John Ambulance venues coffee and tea are provided, however you will need to arrange your own food.

Please note: St John Ambulance NT is concerned for your safety and wellbeing. Participants should be aware this course requires them to undertake strenuous physical activity to meet all assessment criteria to a satisfactory level. Participants who have a pre-existing condition or have otherwise sustained an injury before the training’s commencement MUST contact NT PHN to defer their training until such a time as their condition is rectified.

Accreditation: This activity is RACGP accredited and allocated 5 Category 2 points in the QI&CPD Program for the 2017-2019 Triennium.

ACRRM also accredit this activity as an educational event with 10 PDP and 10 MOPS points.
