Event Details

Acquire knowledge, skills and confidence in providing palliative care for people with a life-limiting illness, and their families.

Topics covered include:

  • The palliative approach
  • Advance care planning and voluntary assisted dying

  • Assessment and care planning

  • Managing common symptoms

  • Supporting psychosocial needs of clients

  • Supporting spiritual needs of clients

  • Caring for the professional caregiver

  • End-of-life considerations

Aim of the workshop:

To develop an understanding of a palliative approach for people living with disability and a life-limiting illness, and their families.

Target audience:

Health care professionals, disability support workers, careres, and support services.


Brenda Green, Manager, Grampians Region Palliative Care Consortium. Brenda has had many years' experience working with people with life-limiting illnesses and palliative care. 

Pauline Fay, Aged & Disability Palliative Care Co-ordinator. Pauline has diverse experience in facilitation and working with Residential Aged Care Facilities and Disability Accommodation Houses. 






9.00am – 3:30pm (registration from 9.00am for 9.30am start).

Morning tea and lunch provided.

This workshop is limited to 25 places, so please register soon to avoid disappointment.
