People with Cameras Creative Space is a free premier photography event for the Sydney community.

Ensure you register today to gain your ticket to this exciting event, which is proudly sponsored by FUJIFILM Australia, THINK TANK, Mindshift Gear and Nisi Filters Australia, and supported by Sydney's leading independent retailers and photographic communities.

WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT WHEN YOU GO?

Starting at 9.30am, Sydney's community will come together to experience photography and videography through photo walks and challenges.

From 11.00am participants can also try out some of the latest FUJIFILM X Series and GFX cameras and lenses, plus there will also be a large range of filters, bags, tripods, professional video gear and photographic accessories on display from various brands.

Adding to this experience if you have registered for your free ticket you can test your photographic skills by participating in two main challenges. The first challenge starts at 10.15am and the second begins at 1.00pm.

People participating in the challenges will have up to one week to publish their photos online using specific hashtags (see below under 'How to Enter'). If a photo is selected by the judges the photographer can win some amazing prizes, including a FUJIFILM camera, THINK TANK bag, a NiSi Filter Kit and a SIRUI tripod.

On the day there will be plenty of free drinks and canapes to keep you going!

From 9.30am through to 10.00am FUJIFILM Australia will give away a limited number of gift bags!

WHAT WILL THE DAY LOOK LIKE?

9.30AM START

Participants are invited to meet a short 2 mins walk from the Botanic Gardens Restaurant at the Maiden Pavilion (Band Lawn) from 9:30am - 10am.

FUJIFILM Australia will hand out a limited number of gift bags.

10.15AM - 11.30AM

Your ticket to the People with Cameras Creative Space event will allow you to participate in an independent Fuji X Aus community led photo walk. At 9.00am, check the email you used to register where you will receive the first secret theme for the photo challenge.

1PM - 2.15PM

Your ticket to the People with Cameras Creative Space event will allow you to participate in the NiSi Filters Australia community led photo walk. At noon, check the email you used to register where you will receive the second secret theme for the photo challenge.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO BETWEEN THE TWO PHOTO WALKS?

There are two options.

From 11 am - 2.30 pm, participants will have the opportunity to either touch and try out imaging equipment (including FUJIFILM's new GFX 50R and MAGMOD's new MagBox, MagsShoe and MagRing) at the Botanic Gardens Restaurant where food and beverages will also be served. You also have the opportunity to visit The Calyx where they can take photos of the flower display (10 am - 4 pm).

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

We highly recommend arriving between 9.30am and 10am.

DO YOU NEED TO BRING A CAMERA?

Yes, you will need to bring along at least one of the following devices to participate in the photo challenges.

- Any digital camera or
- Any film camera or
- A smart device capable of taking photos


IS THIS EVENT ONLY FOR PEOPLE USING FUJIFILM CAMERAS?

No. You can bring along any brand of camera. If you are interested in FUJIFILM equipment, there will be one of every GFX and X Series camera and lens on display.

I AM NOT A PHOTOGRAPHER CAN I OBTAIN A TICKET?

Certainly! This community event is open to anyone regardless of your photographic skill level.

HOW TO ENTER THE PHOTO COMPETITION

Multiple prizes will be awarded one week after the event. Your best chance of winning a prize is to participate in both photo challenges throughout the day.

Once you have taken photos in line with the secret theme (which you will receive via email on the day) you can then upload your photos during the week before entries close on Friday, 23rd November at Midday AEST.


Editing or photo manipulation is okay and you can enter as many photos as you like.

To be eligible to win a prize you must do the following:

1) Upload your photo before midday on Friday, 23rd November.

2) Upload your photo as a public post on either Facebook or Instagram

3) Include the following hashtags when publishing your photo:

HOW TO TELL IF YOU HAVE WON A PRIZE?

A company representative awarding the prizes will reach out to each of the four winners via Direct Message on social media. There will be a winner and runner-up winner for each photo challenge.

The winning photographers along with their winning images will be announced on the 'FUJIFILM X Series AU' Facebook Page on Monday 26th November at 10 am AEST.


WHAT IS THE SECRET THEME FOR BOTH PHOTO CHALLENGES?

The secret theme for both photo challenges is a secret!

Make sure you obtain a ticket through this registration page. One the day you will receive the secret themes via the email address you used at registration. The first theme will arrive in your inbox at 9am (AEST) and the second photo challenge at midday (AEST).

WHAT IS A PHOTO WALK?

A photo walk is where a large group gathers and walks from one destination to another taking photos and video. Individuals can go at their own pace and explore places along the way. During the People with Cameras Creative Space walks individuals can participate in photo competitions. Look out for emails in your inbox on the day for the secret photo challenge theme.

CAN I INVITE MY FRIENDS?

Yes! Certainly. We encourage you to share this event page with your friends. As this is a community event everyone is welcome! Tickets are free! Just make sure they register. There will also be free drinks and a limited amount of food on the day.

HOW DO I GET THERE AND IS THERE PARKING NEARBY?

Car

There is metered car parking along Mrs. Macquarie’s Road and outside the Art Gallery of NSW. The Wilson Parking Domain Car Park is located a short distance from the venue at 2 St. Mary’s Road. The Wilson Parking Domain Car Park offers a flat rate of $10 during weekends and after 5pm Monday to Friday.


Public Transport

Located only minutes from the heart of the CBD and Circular Quay, the Gardens are easily accessible via all means of public transport and are surrounded by ample metered and secure parking options.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I ARRIVE A BIT LATE?

You will certainly miss out on some fun, but we would rather you arrive safely than rush.

Feel free to arrive whenever you like, however, we encourage you to arrive from 9.30am - 10am at the Maiden Pavilion (Band Lawn) from 9:30am - 10am. The Maiden Pavilion is a very short 2-minute walk from the Botanic Gardens Restaurant.
