In partnership with the UQ Centre for the History of Emotions and as part of the Frankenstein Bicentenary celebrations, speakers consider the legacy of Mary Shelley’s masterwork and the ‘monster’ in literature, art, and popular culture, revealing how art and literature help us to explore our fascination with scientific intervention and nature.

ABOUT 'PATRICIA PICCININI: CURIOUS AFFECTION'

In her most ambitious exhibition to date, globally renowned artist Patricia Piccinini will occupy GOMA’s entire ground floor with a retrospective of her most recognisable works from the past 20 years, and a suite of immersive multisensory installations – including a large-scale inflatable sculpture – especially conceived for the Gallery’s expansive spaces.
