About this event

Aboriginal Trackers have occupied a place of mystery and myth in Australian history. Their personal stories have often been overlooked in favour of their almost mythical tracking abilities. Who were the trackers? How did they come to work for law enforcement and settlers and what was their life like?

Join Michael Bennett as he sheds light on the role of Aboriginal Trackers the connection to Maitland and the unusual ways in which their skills and knowledge helped solve crime.

Dr Michael Bennett is a Historian at NTSCORP his work on the Pathfinder project prompted him to release a book. He has earned a PhD in Aboriginal History and studied Prehistory, History, Economics, anthropology and philosophy.
