Event description

Description

Parkinson's NSW is committed to keeping you informed and as such offer the Parkinson's Education Seminar roadshow throughout New South Wales.

The education seminars are suitable for people affected by Parkinson’s, their families and carers, medical professionals, care workers and anyone wanting more information about PD.

Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition which affects the brain’s ability to control movement and may also be associated with other symptoms including mood, depression and anxiety. There is no cure.

In Australia, every hour of every day someone is diagnosed with Parkinson’s. There are 80,000 people with Parkinson’s across all age groups. Whilst the majority of people affected are over 60 at the time of diagnosis, 20% are of working age and 10% are under the age of 40.

The education seminar series provides updates and discussions from local neurologists, exercise physiologists, neurological nurses, exercise groups, GP's, geriatricians, finance advice and guidance and many more professionals.

FAQs

Please note: By registering for the seminar, you will be automatically signed up to receive updates about Parkinson's NSW. Don't worry, you can always unsubscribe (we hope not - we promise, no spamming!).

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

BY CAR
Tradies Gymea have plenty of parking on site with accessible entry into the club.

What can I bring to the seminar?

Come along ready to meet new people in your community. We are pleased to be able to deliver to you the latest in treatment options, research break throughs, carer tips and so much more.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the seminar?

We aim to be environmentally sustainable for our events. You do not need to print your confirmation email. Just let us know your name at the door.

Do I have to register if I want to attend?

We provide tea and coffee, morning tea and a light lunch and as such are required to notify the venue of numbers attending usually a week prior to the event. For this reason, registrations are required, we'd hate for you to miss out on the delicious and warm scones with jam and cream (an example of what might be available). Register as early as you can, these are very popular events and may fill quickly.

What if I can no longer make it to the education seminar?

We understand that at times, circumstances change unexpectedly. If you cannot attend and need to cancel your registration, please inform us at events@parkinsonsnsw.org.au or call our InfoLine on 1800 644 189

If your question is not answered above, head over to our website parkinsonsnsw.org.au or give our InfoLine a call 1800 644 189
