Description

The Vic Park Collective proudly presents Park Flicks, a series of four awesome documentaries to nurture your soul and give you food for thought. Park Flicks is FREE and everyone is invited!

ABOUT THE FILM

A portrait of one of Australia's most celebrated and important voices.

Celebrated by audiences at home and abroad, indigenous artist Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu was one of the most important and acclaimed voices to ever come out of Australia. Blind from birth, he found purpose and meaning through songs and music inspired by his community and country on Elcho Island in far North East Arnhem Land.

Living a traditional Yolngu life, his breakthrough album ‘Gurrumul’ brought him to a crossroads as audiences and artists around the world began to embrace his music.

This movie is rated PG (Parental Guidance - it may contain content that children find confusing or upsetting and may require the guidance of parents and guardians).

ON THE NIGHT

Bring a picnic or get a bite from a local food truck, enjoy our public open spaces and the company of your neighbours. We’ll bring the popcorn!

We strongly encourage everyone to either walk or ride bikes to the venues. Bring reusable plates if you plan to order food from the truck, and plan on taking any waste back home with you.

Brought to you by the VIC PARK COLLECTIVE, in partnership with WIRRPANDA FOUNDATION, with support from THE TOWN OF VICTORIA PARK
