Event description
Early Years Parent Information Session

About this event

Parents are their child’s first teacher and hold an important role in the development of children, especially socially and emotionally.

Join the City of Armadale and Women’s Health and Wellbeing Services for this important session on parenting in the early years.

Parenting a child who has experienced trauma

Children who have experienced traumatic events need to feel safe and loved. All parents/caregivers want to provide this kind of safe environment for their children. However, when parents do not have an understanding of the impacts of trauma, they may misinterpret their child’s behaviour and end up feeling frustrated or resentful.

This workshop will address the nature of trauma, its impact on children and their development, and ways to help your child. By increasing your understanding of trauma and its impact on early brain development, you can help support your child’s healing, your relationship with him or her, and your family as a whole.

Creche is not available for this session and children are unable to attend.

This is session 2 of 3 sessions available. Attend all three or book into one session. Spaces are limited so secure your spot ASAP (individual bookings required).

Contact the Community Development Team on 08 9394 5000 or email info@armadale.wa.gov.au if you would like further information.
