Event description

Description

Dr Jodie Lowinger, Founder and Principal Clinical Psychologist at the Sydney Anxiety Clinic, is hosting an interactive seminar for parents on how to boost confidence, build resilience and happiness for your child or teenage boy.

Our children are bombarded with peer and school pressure, messages from the internet, technology overload and very little down time. This complex world has resulted in an anxiety epidemic. One in four Australians aged 4 to 17 years experience a mental health condition with anxiety disorders the most prevalent concern.

There are, however, many practical strategies available to help your child or teen.

This seminar will cover:

  • Practical strategies to help your boy/s cope with stress, worry and anxiety
  • How to recognise the difference between day to day stress and worry and when this becomes a clinical concern
  • How to recognise when anger and irritability might be anxiety in disguise
  • The opportunity to ask questions to an anxiety specialist

Why is this just for parents of boys?

The child and teen years are a time of increasing anxiety and boys and girls handle this in different ways. We get asked a lot about how parents can help their boys to communicate openly and deal with the pressures of growing up.
