Event description
How can we be sure we don't get the wrong end of the stick when reading Jesus' parables?

About this Event

Jesus taught about the kingdom of God using parables. But many Christians struggle to define the kingdom of God and are uncertain about how to interpret his parables. Are the parables of Jesus intentionally opaque? Do they mean whatever you take them to mean? Do they each make just one point? Or are they best understood as allegories, making lots of points? Despite the initial confusion, once you get a few things straight about Jesus’ parables they pack a punch, like a good political cartoon, and leave a deep and lasting impression.

Come along with friends, with your Connect Group or by yourself. The evening will include some time hearing from Brian, some interactive time and supper at the end of the evening.

This is a free event, but registrations for catering purposes would be appreciated. There will be an opportunity on the night to give a gold coin donation to cover costs.

Dr Brian Rosner is the Principal of Ridley College, where he also teaches New Testament. He is the author of a bunch of books, most recently, Known by God: A Biblical Theology of Personal Identity. He is married to Nat, has four children and two grandchildren.
