This National Palliative Care Week (21 to 28 May) St Vincent's Private Hospital is hosting a complimentary breakfast forum: 'Future Challenges in Palliative Care.'

Who is invited

General Practitioner Specialists, Palliative Medicine Specialists, Emergency Department Specialists, Oncologists, Geriatricians, ICU Specialists, Allied Health Professionals, Clinical / Aged and Acute Care Nurses, Counsellors, Pastoral and Spiritual Carers, Students and Educators.

Associate Professor Dr Phillip Good is the Medical Director of Palliative Care at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Brisbane and a Senior Specialist at Mater Health Services. He is also an Associate Professor at Mater Research Institute-University of Queensland. As well as an active clinical practice he is involved in research on clinical therapeutics in palliative care, qualitative research on patient and carer experience, and the experience of CALD communities in palliative care.

Professor Ben White is a Director of the Australian Centre for Health Law Research at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). His area of research focus is the law, policy and practice of end of life decision-making. Ben graduated with a University Medal in Law from QUT and won a Rhodes Scholarship to complete a DPhil at Oxford University. He has worked as an associate at the Supreme Court, at Legal Aid Queensland and as the full-time Commissioner of the Queensland Law Reform Commission. He has undertaken a series of Australian Research Council funded studies examining law at the end of life and is an editor of the text ‘Health Law in Australia’.

What can I expect?

A complimentary sit-down breakfast and presentations from experts in the field. If you have specific dietary requirements, please let us know when prompted during online registration.

Do I need a printed ticket to attend this event?

No, you need to register online by 15 May and check-in at the registration desk which will be located at the Garden Marquee when you arrive. Registration is open from 7am. We cannot register people who are not on the registration list.

Can I register for other people?

Yes, you will need the person's full name, position, organisation and contact details to register on behalf of someone else.

Can I register more than one person?

Yes, you can enter up to three (3) individuals at a time. You will need each person's full name, position, organisation and contact details. Every effort will be made to seat your group at one table.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, you can update your details by clicking on the link in the event confirmation email that was sent to you when you registered. Or, log in to your Eventbrite account, Go to your Tickets page and edit your order.

Can I cancel my registration?

Yes, log into Eventbrite, Go to the Tickets page, and locate your order. Click your order to view order details, and then select "Cancel Order" to cancel your registration. You and St Vincent's Private Hospital will receive an email confirming the cancellation.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

No, the person who attends must match the name on the registration list which will be used to check-in at the event.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Ample carparking is available at Victoria Park and public transport is available nearby.
