Description

Program Objective:

PEPA is funded by the Department of Health and is aimed at preparing Australia's health workforce to deliver quality, holistic, person-centred and culturally responsive care to people with life-limitng illness.



Aim of workshop:

Develop an understanding of a palliative approach to care for people with a life-limiting illness and their families.

Target Audience:

Calvary Staff: Registered/Enrolled Nurses and allied health clinicians

Topics Include:

Identifying palliative approach patients

Identify the needs & interventions required for palliative approach patients and their families, including physical, psychosocial and spiritual

End of Life discussions with patients who have life-limiting illness and their families

Assessment of ongoing needs of patients with a life-limiting illness

Discharge planning for palliative approach patients

Grief and Bereavement as a part of the palliative approach to care
