About this Event
How do we know what dinosaurs looked like? Use your imagination along with scientific evidence to become a palaeo-artist and illustrate dinosaur discoveries from Australia and around the world.
Filled with fascinating science and fun artistic challenges, Bringing Dinosaurs to Life workshop will jumpstart your creativity and ignite a sense of wonder. Onsite workshops include a guided tour of our incredible Dinosaurs exhibition for inspiration and to study the various body coverings and skin textures of these ancient beasts.
This is an introductory workshop where participants learn basic techniques and receive their own art kit that includes Derivan watercolour pencils, paper, brushes, and everything needed to also get creating at home. No prior experience required. Workshops are led by Celia Curtis, a successful paleo-artist and a scientific illustrator who has a degree in Visual Arts from the University of South Australia.
Cost: FREE with Creative Kids voucher or $100 per child. Price includes GST and individual activity pack for use during workshop and is yours to keep!
Ages: 6-12 years
Date: Tuesday 19 January 2021 (onsite workshop). If you are not able to attend the onsite workshop, sign-up for our online workshop on Wednesday 20 January 2021.
Time: 10.30am-12.30pm; 2pm-4pm
What to bring: Art smock or clothes for painting; Water bottle and snack; Individual activity kits will be provided during the workshop which includes pencils, paper, brushes and everything needed for the workshop.
Bookings essential. Limited capacity of 16 children per workshop to allow for individual attention and feedback. Book early to avoid disappointment!
