Description
Do you help people living with persisting pain?
Do you want to learn more about how pain persists, and how to treat it well?

Join us for an interactive multidisciplinary lecture and discussion about the challenge of treating persisting pain, and the opportunities for recovery that have emerged from the research lab.
Enjoy afternoon tea and a chance to network with other local health professionals courtesy of Primary Health Tasmania.
You'll learn:
- Why understanding the brain is critical in pain management
- How to understand patient pain experiences through the lens of contemporary pain science
- How evidence-based alternatives can change reliance on medication
- How careful education and facilitated self-management can be a powerful therapeutic tool to help put people on the road to recovery.
Following the speakers, there will be a panel discussion about the challenges facing people in pain in Tasmania, and opportunities to ask questions of some of Australia's leading pain experts.

You'll have the opportunity to get connected to the Local Pain Educator Network and meet our Pain Revolution riders on a mission to bring help and support to their rural colleagues through their pedal-powered fundraising.
We're looking forward to welcoming health professionals from all disciplines, community health workers, academics and educators and health policy makers and administrators to learn more about pain, and the importance of a whole community approach to pain treatment.
