Event Information
Description
Packing Lunchboxes with Children’s Nutritionist, Simone Emery
Saturday 19 January 2019. 11am – 12pm. $20.
Join us in The Back Room for a morning presentation on lunch box packing with Simone Emery, children’s nutritionist, writer and guest speaker.
We will be talking about the nutritional, ergonomic and logistic factors associated with the school lunchbox. Simone will give you relatable information about fussy eating, working with your children to provide nutritious lunces and how to make lunches easier for your family.
Simone Emery started Play with Food in 2012 whilst on maternity leave. Play with Food was born from her passion for helping children enjoy food and build a positive relationship with food. Lunchboxes are a big part of a school day preparation for many busy families. We dive into how to take the stress out of them, especially with fussy eaters. Eating involves so much learning! And eating different foods is hard work in a busy, exciting world for kids. Attending Simone’s non-judgemental, experience based and holistic talk, will help you feel confident across the bumps and jolts of providing a lunchbox five days a week.
Come and join us in The Back Room and gain more tools for your parenting tool box to help with lunchbox packing.

A BIT MORE ABOUT SIMONE...
Simone writes a blog full of recipes and tips for parents of fussy eaters at www.playwithfood.com.au. Simone works with a clinical team in Sydney’s north west running the SOS approach to feeding therapy for problematic feeders. Her clinical experience, makes her resources very personable and supportive. Simone could talk about feeding children for weeks on end, therefore, she is trying to concisely write her first full-length book and loves narrowing in on specific pain-points or feeding milestones with her talks and writing.
“Allergy Free Afternoon Tea”, Simone’s handy guide (hard copy) about helping children get ready for dinner by starting with afternoon tea. The book features allergy friendly – AKA play date / family friendly – recipes. It will be available for purchase on the night for $10. With $2 from each sale going to ABA.
To further fundraise for the Australian Breastfeeding Association, Simone is offering you a 5% discount and ABA 40% of the revenue, for any orders from her online resources / online consultations applying the code: abaparkesforbes to your shopping cart. Simone has video bundles, eBooks and courses available on her page relating to a range of pain-points for parents when it comes to feeding children and having happy mealtimes.
And thanks so much to our local partners Australian Breastfeeding Association (Parkes and Forbes Branch) who are supporting this event.
