Event description
Australia Day Council Northern Territory is bringing OZ Forum to Katherine!

About this Event

This years OZ Forum will explore the topic

Community Resilience: Connected, Inclusive, Empowered.

Facilitated by ABCs Carmen Brown, this year's panel is made up of 2019 Australian of the Year Awards Alumni and community champions

  • Kate and Tick Everett - 2019 National Australia’s Local Hero recipients
  • Virginia Haussegger AM - 2019 ACT Australian of the Year recipient
  • Patricia Elliott AM - 2019 NT Senior Australian of the Year nominee as they discuss the importance of community; what motivates people to become involved in their community and how we can encourage others to do so.

We will also welcome Tom Curtain to the stage to perform his new single “We’re Still Here” which was inspired by the resilience he witnessed whilst touring through Queensland during the drought in late 2018, and again after the floods in early 2019 as he drove back to the Territory. This is a FREE COMMUNITY EVENT , proudly brought to you by Australia Day Council Northern Territory.

Supported by Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre, Katherine Town Council, Tom Curtain Music and Outback Experience.
