These workshops introduce you to the wonderous world of fungi, and growing your own oyster mushrooms at home using recycled containers.

About this Event

Welcome to our first Workshops of the new decade, 2020!

These workshops will introduce attendees to the wonderful and diverse kingdom of fungi, and their importance and various uses. Attendees will also be taught basic methods of mushroom cultivation and how to grow their own delicious oyster mushrooms from home, using recycled containers and other "waste" materials.

Workshop will run for ~3 hours long and include:

- an introductory lecture on the wonderful world of fungi, their importance, and cultivation methods.

- a first hand demonstration of substrate preparation and container inoculation

-A hands-on component where attendees inoculate 2x oyster mushroom buckets to take home and fruit themselves!

Tickets are $40, including all equipment and light snacks provided. Children are welcome, and under the age of 12 are free!

Please note: Due to resourcing, Attendance will be capped at 30 adults, so please ensure you book your spot :).
