Event description

Description

Come and meet other over 50's living at Providence and across the Ripley Valley.

Help us build a greater connection and develop some further interest groups and opportunities or just have a cup of tea and meet a neighbour. You might learn something or just have a laugh.

We have special guest Pamela Lamb joining us to share her insights and stories about her research and writing of her book - In the Shadow of Mount Flinders, Stories of Ripley Valley.

From an old gentleman living at Bundamba Lagoon who was one of the last convicts transported to the colony of New South, to an unsuccessful attempt to develop a housing estate during the 1860’s, to a pile of empty coffins in the bush, “In the Shadows of Mount Flinders” offers a glimpse into European settlers and the stories they left behind.

For those who are interested, Pamela’s book is for sale at the Providence Centre at $20 per book.

All welcome. Whilst it is not essential you rsvp, bookings are appreciated as they help us with catering and seating requirements.
