Event description
Join a Ranger for a guided tour of the former Orroral Valley Tracking Station and Granite Tors walking track.

About this Event

Join a Ranger for a guided tour of the former Orroral Valley Tracking Station, then walk the Granite Tors Walking Track, finishing at the former Orroral Geodetic Observatory. Fantastic views await from the top of the Orroral ridge and an opportunity to take a look inside the former Geodetic Observatory.

The Granite Tors walk is a hard walk, approximately 8 kms return, with steep sections. Walkers should consider their fitness level in order to undertake the steep walk, as it is suited to experienced walkers with a high level of fitness. Hat, sunscreen, water and appropriate walking shoes are a must. Well worth the effort!

This event is hosted by ACT Parks and Conservation Service.

This event is also part of the Canberra and Region Heritage Festival and is a great opportunity to explore the stories connected to our city. To see the full Festival program and find more great events, visit www.act.gov..au/heritagefestival.
