Program Objective:

PEPA aims to improve health professionals’ knowledge, skills and confidence in the palliative approach to care for people with a life-limiting illness.

The workshops are interactive and provide ample time for discussion through case presentations and examples (some aspects of the program may change due to circumstances beyond our control).

Target Audience

Background: People with end-stage liver disease have an uncertain illness trajectory that causes a broad range of distressing symptoms requiring an integrated holistic approach to care. A multi-disciplinary approach that looks at the needs of the whole person and their support network is the gold standard of care.

Topics include: What is End Stage Liver Disease; Causes, prevalence, treatment of Hepatitis C; Pscho-social model; Symptom management - pain, confusion, nutrition; Impact of Liver Disease ont he Aboriginal Community; Integrative, Collaborative model of Care; Patient/ Carer Experience and Case Studies; overview of PEPA and placement opportunities (some aspects of the program may change due to circumstances beyond our control).

  • An email confirming registration to attend will be sent from PEPA to participants.
  • Please note that places are limited and registration is essential.
  • TICKET issued in 'good faith' that you meet the necessary criteria/target group for this session. Those not meeting the criteria/target group will be contacted by PEPA NSW to cancel their ticket.
  • Registration opens approximately 15 minutes prior to start time.
