About this event
OHV Annual Symposium 2022:
"Oral History: Making it work through the pandemic"
Sunday 19 June 2022
10.00 am - 1.30 pm (doors open from 9.30 am)
The Salon, Abbotsford Convent
This year the OHV Symposium is a half-day, in-person, catered event designed to provide an opportunity to reflect together on what we have experienced and learnt over the last few years.
- How has our oral history practice changed?
- What do we want to preserve from pre-pandemic oral history practice?
- What new approaches will we take from our experience of the pandemic into our future practice?
**We invite OHV members to contribute to the Symposium discussions in advance by completing this short survey. **
Selected contributors will be invited to speak on the day in the form of Lightning presentations.
We will be meeting in the light and airy Salon at Abbotsford Convent, which you can see here: https://abbotsfordconvent.com.au/venues/salon/
Morning tea and lunch will be catered by the Convent Bakery in the adjoining Mural Hall. Dietary restrictions can be communicated during registration.
While the Symposium will not be streamed live, we will record the event and it will be available for members to view via our website at a later date.
We hope members will enjoy the opportunity to meet in person. Our monthly Skills and Exchange sessions will continue to be offered online, so we urge those who are unable to attend this event in person to make the most of OHV's regular opportunity to discuss oral history and seek guidance from our Vice-President, Professor Al Thomson.
