Six Months of Re-enactments:
Creative Spaces invites you to an open studio session from Boyd Studio-1 resident artist Deanne Butterworth. Deanne is a Melbourne-based choreographer.
Initially beginning with the intention to examine sculptures in Melbourne public spaces, the period of Deanne’s residency has developed into an exercise in observing people interacting with sculpture.
This open studio session is set up to share live material occurring inside and outside the studio; video documentation; and spoken information. Over the two hour period, Deanne will reveal ideas and experiments that have evolved during her six- month residency.
Date: Thursday 15 December 2016
Time: Members of the public are welcome to attend between 12 - 2pm
This event is proudly supported by the City of Melbourne through the Creative Spaces and Arts Grants programs.
Deanne has worked with several important contemporary choreographers including Shelley Lasica, Lee Serle, Phillip Adams, Sandra Parker, Jo Lloyd, Brooke Stamp, and Shian Law. She has shown her work at Bus Projects, Spring 1883, The Substation, West Space, Lucy Guerin Inc, National Gallery of Victoria, Dancehouse, PAF (France), Dance New Amsterdam, (NYC), Centre for Contemporary Photography (with Shelley Lasica), and Hong Kong Fringe, (with Jo Lloyd)
