Open Sessions - A free creative meet up for young people 13 - 18

About this event

Open Sessions is a free program for young people aged 13 - 18 wanting to share creative interests in an encouraging and inspiring environment. Make something at a drop-in activity station, chat with practicing artists, develop new ideas and meet other young creatives from your community. Open Sessions is free but bookings are essential!

2022 Dates:

TERM 1: THURSDAY 3 MARCH - Paper Ornaments and Experimental Jewellery making with artists Jeff McCann and Nina Baker.

TERM 1: THURSDAY 17 MARCH - Copper pendants and Printed Tote bags with silversmith Jane Tadrist and printmaker Linda Swinfield.

TERM 1: THURSDAY 31 MARCH - Inclusive Filmmaking with Genevieve Clay-Smith from Bus Stop Films.

TERM 2: THURSDAY 12 MAY - Japanese Inspired Ink Drawing with Artist Shay Tobin.

TERM 2: THURSDAY 26 MAY - Collage self-portraiture beyond the Anthropocene, into the Symbiocene with Artist Rachel Harrex.

TERM 2: THURSDAY 9 JUNE - Bad Embroidery with Artist Liam Benson

TERM 3: THURSDAY 4 AUGUST - Bioluminescence, Claymaking Fungi and Creatures with Artist Freedom Wilson

SATURDAY 13 AUGUST, 1 - 3:30pm - Street Art Satellite Program #2 - Artist, author and activist Ailie Banks and Wiradjuri Street Artist Merindah Funnel. THIS WORKSHOP IS BEING HELD AT THE BLUE MOUNTAINS THEATRE AND COMMUNITY HUB, SPRINGWOOD.
