Description

The Committee for Melbourne invites you to consider how ‘social infrastructure gaps’ can be addressed into the future and the benefits to the community through sharing leading edge examples of supporting Australians who are older or have a disability to live at the center of Melbourne’s communities.


The intended outcomes of the event are for attendees to:


  • Identify best practice and future models of housing and support for Australians who are older or have a disability.

  • Understand the potential for their organization to contribute to closing the ‘social infrastructure gap’.

  • Connect with other stakeholders that could be the basis for future collaborations in supporting social infrastructure development.


There will be two keynote addresses by:


  • Simon Mckeon, Chair – Summer Housing, Chancellor – Monash University

  • Beverley Smith, General Manager Residential Communities Australian Unity


These will be followed by a panel moderated by Martine Letts, CEO Committee for Melbourne, including


  • Simon Phemister, Secretary Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions

  • Simon McKeon, Chair – Summer Housing, Chancellor – Monash University

  • Associate Professor Rebecca Bentley, ARC Future Fellow, Affordable Housing Hallmark Research Initiative Researcher The University of Melbourne

  • Ryan Banting, Head of Social Infrastructure Australian Unity
