Overview

A two part group program held online via Zoom, for parents who are having twins (or more) at the Women's Hospital, Victoria

Twins and More (Multiple Birth )Childbirth Education Session.

The Royal Women’s Hospital is offering this specific program for those people who are experiencing a pregnancy, carrying two or more babies and birthing at the Women’s, Parkville. This childbirth education program consists of two -threee hours sessions with a childbirth educator. This is similar to our standard programs, with emphasis on your twin/multiple pregnancy. This program is not suitable for anyone with a single pregnancy.

The program is offered online via ZOOM as two x 3 hour classes: The Zoom invite will be sent from Eventbrite to particiapnts four days before session one. The same Zoom link can be used for both sessions.

These topics will be covered or links will be provided:

• Signs of labour

• When to come to hospital

• Labour

• Caesarean section

• How babies communicate with their world

• Breastfeeding more than one baby

• Care and management at home

• Support in the community

Booking tips:

· Places are limited & programs fill quickly - don't delay. Twins programs are offered 4 x per year.

· Use the name of the pregnant person when you book.

· You must provide your Royal Womens Hospital, Melbourne Medical Record Number to book. We will check you are booked to have your baby at the Women’s.

· A confirmation email will be sent by Eventbrite after booking.

Medicare Card Ticket - Free when the pregnant person:

  • is booked to birth as a public patient at the Womens hospital, Victoria
  • has a valid Medicare card (or eligible for reciprocal rights)

No Medicare Card Ticket - $450.00 when the person:

  • is booked to birth as a private patient at the Womens hospital, Victoria

The fee is refundable if you cancel at least one week prior to the first class. Some private health funds may provide a rebate for the program, however, it is up to the participant to check with their own health fund.

Need to cancel or reschedule?

· If you need to reschedule, please CANCEL your booking on the Eventbrite website, and then rebook into another course. PLEASE remember to cancel to allow somebody else to take your spot.

· If you can’t make it to one of your booked sessions, we are unable to offer a “make-up” session for the one you missed. Written summaries are provided for the program.

Payments and Refunds

Each family is eligible for ONE ticket only. This ticket includes the pregnant person and their partner or support person
