ONLINE Shared Lives - Become a Foster Carer

"Shared Lives" Foster Carer Training is a free and comprehensive workshop designed to help you become the best foster carer you can be.

It's an opportunity to ask everything you want to know about fostering, as well as an accredited training for all of those who want to become authorised foster carers in NSW.

Shared Lives is an interactive training that gives you the chance to ask all questions you might have about having a young person under your care for short or long periods of time. It focuses on the challenges, rewards, rights, and duties of foster carers in NSW. The workshop is also a great chance to learn about education, trauma and children development.

Normally a two day workshop, our Foster Carer trainers have modified CASPA's Shared Lives training to be delivered via four x 3 hour online sessions - all four sessions are mandatory and must be completed in order.

At CASPA, We support our carers every step of the way through:

• Comprehensive training for new carers & on-going skills training for experienced carers.
• 24/7 Support for clinical guidance & support at the time that it's needed
• Financial assistance to help with the costs of foster care-related activities.
• Monthly meetings with a dedicated support worker and frequent visits from a skilled case worker.
