What’s it all about?

This workshop has been designed to support educators who are new to The Early Years Learning Framework, or those who would like to revisit the fundamentals.

This workshop is pitched at a basic level of understanding, with a focus on explaining key concepts and terminology that underpin the EYLF. It is of benefit to new educators while those with more experience will also benefit by exploring links to theory and a focus on the practices and principles of the EYLF as opposed to just learning outcomes.

This workshop will support educators to identify their own pedagogy and engage in critical reflection around how principle and practices impact upon their curriculum decision making. Real life scenarios will be shared through group discussion and ideas generated through reflective practice. As well as providing information, this workshop is interactive and involves activities to support discussion between educators and the sharing of real experiences.

Learning Outcomes

  • Gain an understanding about the principles and practices underpin curriculum frameworks
  • Build on existing knowledge of curriculum learning outcomes
  •  Develop personal pedagogy from a foundation of evidence-based principles and practices
  • Explore ways to use purposeful teaching to enhance children’s learning experience
  • Build understanding of child-centred, emergent and holistic programs for children to enhance learning opportunities
