Event description

Description

Learning is more powerful and dynamic with tools that are already right in front of you – OneNote is that tool and it works on ANY device using OneNote Online or OneNote applications and software.

With OneNote, primary and secondary educators can create digital notebooks that support tasks such as writing, reading, mathematics, science, history, geography, physical education, creative and performing arts, and elective courses.

Students can use OneNote across content areas and grade levels, and use OneNote to compile and organize information, research, and content. OneNote also supports research, collaboration, information management, communication, note taking, journaling, reflective writing, and academic requirements.

In this workshop, teachers will develop the basic skills needed to use OneNote as a productivity tool for both themselves and their students. Time will be devoted to assist a teacher in understanding how OneNote can be used as a true collaborative tool. Interactive lessons will be created using the tools in OneNote which will then immediately transfer to classroom practice.

At the end of the day, participants will earn the OneNote Teacher Academy certification from the Microsoft Educator Community, and should leave feeling comfortable and knowledgeable in the basic skills necessary to be up and running successfully using OneNote in the classroom, and as a professional tool.

Venue: This training will take place at St Therese's Catholic Primary School on Thursday 2nd November at 9am. Parking on-site is limited so please make use of on-street parking.

Prerequisites: Create a profile on the Microsoft Educator Community

Devices: It is recommended that you bring a Windows 10 or MacOS device with Office 2016 installed. You can install Office 2016 for free at office.com using your Office 365 credentials (usually your school email and password). A limited number of Windows 10 devices will be available for use on the day but the learning experience will be better if you bring your own device.

Catering: While some light refreshments will be provided, it is recommended you bring your own lunch or make use of local cafes during the lunch break.
