About this Event

ON THE LAND: FROM HERE ON

Panel Session and Group Discussion

Join the Museum and our panel of industry leaders for the first in a series of seminars exploring life on the land in 2021 and beyond. This event will bring together farmers and thinkers for a panel discussion about new developments and understandings to future-proof the agricultural sector.  Discover more about regenerative practices that are helping farmers and their local environment in a changing climate.

Introducing our panel of industry leaders: Peter Stray, Dr Erin Cumming and Richard Weatherly OAM

Peter Stray has spent his life living and working on the family beef and sheep farm at She Oaks. He has a deep connection with the land and has observed the impact changing farming and land management methods have had on the viability and health of the landscape over a long period of time.

Dr. Erin Cumming is a Research Assistant for a seafood nutrition laboratory (NuSea Lab) in the School of Life and Environmental Sciences at Deakin University.

Richard Weatherly OAM, is an environmental artist and farmer, managing a large property at Mortlake. He has illustrated numerous books, of which the monograph “The Fairy-wrens” was awarded a Whitley Award.
