Old Government House Timed Entry

Located within Parramatta Park, Old Government House is one of the World Heritage listed Australian Convict Sites and a must-see on the Great Western Walk. Discover the story of an expanding colonial settlement in New South Wales when you visit the oldest public building in Australia. We are inviting you to reconnect with heritage at Old Government House with safe physical distancing and numbers on site managed through timed entry from Thursday to Sunday weekly.

On display until 14 February, the Transportation Exhibition tells the stories of over 165,000 men, women and children sent to Australia from the U.K as a punishment for their crimes from 1788-1868. Learn about the impact forced migration had upon their lives as well as the impact convictism played in shaping Australian society. Transportation was developed by Fremantle Prison. Tickets to Old Government House includes entry into the exhibition.

Then from 27 February, Enquiring Minds is an exhibition which will delve into the eighteenth and nineteenth century voyages of discovery which combined the exploration of the great southern land with scientific advances in navigation, astronomy, mapping, and botanical collecting.

Our first session for entry opens at 10am, with last entry at 3pm for 4pm closing.

Session times are available one month ahead and are as follows:

10am – 11am

11am – 12pm

12pm – 1pm

1pm – 2pm

2pm – 3pm

3pm – 4pm
