Bring your childhood memories to life at this culinary experience not to be missed.

After the success of last year’s inaugural Off the Menu event in support of Camp Quality, we’re bringing Melbourne a second serving, created by five award winning chefs.

For one night only, take a five-course trip down memory lane with Off the Menu lead chef Matthew Butcher (Morris Jones), gastronomic superstar Ryan Clift (Tippling Club – Singapore), Adam D’Sylva (Coda), Simon Tarlington (Highline), and the king of desserts Darren Purchese (Burch and Purchese Sweet Studio).

Camp Quality creates great memories for children impacted by cancer through innovative programs and services. So, this year’s dinner, to be held at the Cargo Hall, Southbank, is inspired by the fun of childhood memories. Bring your sense of wonder as we transport you back to your favourite kids’ carnival.

Each chef will serve a course inspired by a poignant childhood memory. This unique event gives you the chance to sample some of the finest food from award winning restaurants all in one nostalgic meal.

Our wonderful chefs are donating their time and the ingredients for their culinary creations. There are plenty of ways you can support too, with a silent auction, raffle, one-off prizes and the opportunity to dunk the chef!

While laughter is at the heart of everything Camp Quality does, the reality is that a cancer experience places enormous physical, emotional and financial stress on families. Our programs and services are designed to develop life skills and strengthen the wellbeing of children (0-13 years) growing up with cancer, and their families, free of charge.


Chef Line Up

  • Matthew Butcher - Morris Jones / Matthew’s individual style has been honed from a wealth of diverse influences, having worked under three world renowned chefs - Gordon Ramsay, Shannon Bennett, and Ryan Clift. He is now the head chef at Morris Jones.

  • Ryan Clift - Tipping Club / With a culinary career that began at the early age of 14 at a Michelin star restaurant in England, Ryan Clift diligently transformed himself from dishwasher to young culinary protégé. Throughout his 20-year career, Clift has worked with some of the world’s most admired chefs, including Marco-Pierre White, Peter Gordon, Emmanuel Renaut, Shannon Bennett, and Raymond Capaldi. In 1999, Clift moved to Australia where he excelled as head chef of Vue de Monde. Based in Singapore since 2008, Ryan conceptualised the now famous Tipping Club, which couples refined progressive cuisine with avant-garde cocktails. This quickly threw him into the spotlight of Asia’s bustling gastronomical scene, ranking No 31 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, 12th on the inaugural Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2016 and named in the Top 20 of The Miele Guide.

  • Darren Purchese - Burch & Purchese Sweet Studio / Owner, pastry chef and creative force behind Burch & Purchese Sweet Studio, is one of most respected pastry chefs working in Australia today, renowned for his exquisite and extravagant sweet creations.

  • Adam D'Sylva - Coda / Now established as one of Australia's most prominent chefs, credits his success to his time spent as executive chef of Coda and Tonka restaurants. These two venues, now intrinsic to Melbourne's culinary scene, have been awarded and maintained One Chef's Hat in The Age Good Food Guide since their inception.

  • Simon Tarlington - The Railway Hotel - Windsor / Simon made his start cooking in clubs and hotels. Once qualified, he moved to London and work at some of the finest restaurants in the world, including Maze and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. He’s now the Head Chef at The Railway Hotel, which was awarded the Best Pub Restaurant in Victoria by The Australian Hotels Association!
