Picnic rugs, smiling friends, stunning local wines, gourmet food, the summer-sun softly setting over the ocean, and some of Australia’s most amazing live music… Welcome to Ocean Sounds Sunset Concert at Churchill Island, Phillip Island.

The Hills Are Alive Group’s latest music festival offering. Ocean Sounds is a family-friendly, music-lovers’ all-day concert that will take place at beautiful Churchill Island (just off Phillip Island), Victoria on Saturday the 19th January. Headlined by the recently ARIA nominated Dan Sultan (with full band), Ocean Sounds will see seven musical acts will be performing including Pierce Brothers (who’s debut album comes out this Friday), Double J Artist of the Year, Jen Cloher, Internationally renowned Melbourne duo Oh Pep!, fast-rising singer-songwriter Mike Waters, and talented up-and-coming local artists Steve Cousins, Maddy May and Imogen Price.

As well as a stellar line-up Ocean Sounds will also showcase local wines and cheeses and gourmet food vans. Attendees are encouraged to bring their picnic rugs, friends, good vibes and to enjoy a memorable experience of quality music in a relaxed, atmospheric and picturesque environment.

If you don’t feel like driving, buses are available from Melbourne and throughout the South Gippsland/Bass Coast region.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Ocean Sounds is an All Ages event.

Those with a 'General Admission' ticket type will be required to present a valid 18+ photo ID before their wristbands will be issued as it will allow the wristband wearer to purchase alcoholic beverages at the bars and stalls.

Teenages (13-17 years) will need to purhase a Teenage Ticket and Children under 12 years are admitted free. All attendees under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. While babies are, of course, welcome, please know Ocean Sounds is an outdoor event with amplified music so make sure you come appropriately prepared.

Can I bring alcohol to the event?

Ocean Sounds is strictly no BYO alcohol.

The event is fully licensed. You may bring unsealed EMPTY reusable water bottles to be filled inside the festival at our free water stations. Please don’t bring glassware or glass bottles.

Can I bring food to the event?

With a great range of food supplied by the amazing line-up of food trucks/stalls and local produce providers there is no need to bring your own food. Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten free food options will be available. Should you have highly specific dietary requirements we recommend bringing your own food. While not encouraged, you are welcome to bring your own food.

What are the Conditions of Entry

All bags are subject to safety and security searches upon entry. Any prohibited items will be confiscated, see list of prohibited items below. A valid ticket must be presented for scanning before entry to the event will be granted.

Will the event run in all weather conditions?

Yes, rain, hail or shine (lets all hope for shine) Ocean Sounds festival will go on. Ensure you check the weather forecast before leave the house and plan accordingly.

What to bring?

Hats, sunscreen, Insect repellent, folding chairs, picnic rugs, jackets, ponchos, clothing to suit the weather conditions (particularly warm clothes for the evening), your groove boots, good vibes and positive attitudes.

What not to bring?

Glassware, cooking equipment, cutlery, tents or shade tents, high back folding chairs, beach umbrellas, video or recording equipment, pets, illicit substances, bad vibes or arrogant attitudes.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Car parking is available on-site and requires a Car Pass per vehicle. Car passes must be presented to car parking staff once parked. NOTE: a higher fee will be charged on the day if you arrive without a carpass. *see carpass terms below

Buses are available to and from the site. Below are the three available routes:

  • Melbourne Bus (Return) - Melbourne / Southern Cross

  • South Gippsland Bus (Return) - Meeniyan / Leongatha / Korumburra / Loch / The Gurdies Grantville / Bass

  • Coast Bus (Return) - Venus Bay / Tarwin Lower / Inverloch / Cape Paterson / Wonthaggi / Kilcunda / San Remo

More specific information about the buses including times and stop locations will be advertised and distributed to bus ticket holders closer the to the event.

Will there be tickets available at the event?

Judging by the interest in the event it is anticipated the event will sell out. Best to buy now to avoid being disappointed.

Do I have to bring my ticket to the event?

Yes, your ticket can be in the form of a hard copy print, or saved on your mobile device as a pdf. Please turn your screen brightness to full when presenting your ticket to the gate staff.

Is it possible to get a refund?

No, sorry. Once the purchase is confirmed it is final.

In the instance of event cancellation, the event organisers will work with ticket holders to come to a fair and reasonable outcome.

Can I update my Ticket information?

No, ticket must be purchased in the correct name and email address of the person attending. If you can no longer attend the event and wish to on sell your ticket please visit our official ticket reseller TIXEL - www.tixel.com.au

NOTE: tickets purchased on any other resale platform (Viagogo, Ticketmaster etc) will not be valid or accepted at the event.

Is my ticket transferrable?

Yes, through our official ticket resale platform TIXEL - www.tixel.com.au. An administration fee will be charged to facilitate the transfer.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket doesn't match the person who attends?

No, the name on the ticket MUST match the person attending. This is to prevent ticket scalping & scamming and to allow our ticket staff to look up order and ticketing information easily.

Is there Disabled & Wheelchair access?

Ocean Sounds is wheelchair accessible. There are no stairs, and there are disabled toilets on site. Please contact us at mail at info@oceansoundsfestival.com.au should you require special assistance.

* CAR PASS - To minimise the number of cars attending the event and to have a positive effect on traffic and the environment (Churchill Island). Everyone wishing to park a vehicle at the event MUST purchase a car pass.

Should you arrive on-site without a valid car pass as significantly higher fee will be charged to entry the site. If you are found to be parking on the side of the road with in the vicinity of the event site police will be notified and your car will be towed and impounded.

All profits from the car passes will go to Environmental initiatives on the event site and in the local area. For all vehicles arriving with 3 or more peeps the full car pass fee will go to the local environmental initiative.
