Brought to you by the Northern NSW Local Health District and the University Centre for Rural Health. This workshop seeks to provide occupational therapists across the Northern NSW Local Health District with a best practice, evidence based framework for cognitive assessment. The day will feature a discussion of contemporary local and international trends in occupational therapy assessment and intervention for people with cognitive impairments; a theoretical model of everyday cognition; methods to observe cognitive strategy use in everyday life; and practice in identifying cognitive impairments impacting everyday life.

Dr Judy Ranka - BSc(OT)(WMU), MA(Educ.&Work)(Macq.), DHlthSc(Usyd.)

Judy is the Director and Principal Occupational Therapist of the Occupational Performance Network, Sydney Australia and an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Sydney in the Discipline of Occupational Therapy. Judy’s current research interests include occupational therapy theory development, ecological assessment and intervention for cognitive strategy application disorders in adults with neurological disorders (including HIV Associated Neurocognitive Disorder), and ecological assessment and intervention for reach, grasp and release disorders in adults with neurological disorders.
