Our tutors:

Amaan Merchant, 2015 Premier Scholar


Amaan was an NZQA Premier Scholar in 2015, awarded top scholar in Statistics, outstanding scholarships in Chemistry, Physics and Economics, and scholarships in Calculus, Music and Earth and Space Science. He also completed a mathematics paper, MATHS 153, through the university as a year 13 student, gaining an A+ and a First in Course Award. He has since gained an additional six First in Course Awards. He is currently a second-year BCom/BSc student on scholarship at The University of Auckland. In his spare time, he enjoys writing and playing music, particularly on the guitar.


Ella Brownlie, 2015 Outstanding Scholar


Ella was an Outstanding Scholar in 2015. She achieved Outstanding Scholarships in English, History and Geography as well as Scholarships in Art History and Statistics. She was also Top Scholar in New Zealand for History. Ella is now studying a conjoint Law and Arts degree majoring in History at Victoria University of Wellington, and was named on the Dean’s List in 2016 for both the Faculty of Law and Faculty of Social Sciences. Ella has been tutoring for two years, and has extensive experience tutoring NZ Scholarship students both individually and in group class format.

Stephanie Cooper, 2015 Outstanding Biology Scholarship



Stephanie graduated from Rangitoto College in 2015 as Deputy Head Girl and Summa Cum Laude. She endorsed Level 1, 2 and 3 NCEA with Excellence and received an Outstanding Scholarship in Biology. Stephanie was awarded a scholarship to The University of Auckland and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biological Sciences and Psychology. She is very passionate about science, namely biology and chemistry, and wishes to go into biological research after completing her postgraduate degree.
